Dear Neighbor,

There is a strong community interest in creating dog parks on the East End and at Bay Farm Island. The City Council approved $75,000 this fiscal year to build one or two new dog parks to meet this need.

On September 9, 2021, the Recreation and Parks Commission is discussing three potential dog park locations. The next step is an on-line community survey that will be launched in mid-September so everyone in the community can give feedback on preferred locations. The survey results and a staff recommendation on final locations will then be heard by the Recreation and Parks Commission later this fall.

Please join the Commission meeting to provide your feedback. Pre-registration is required before the meeting and it will then automatically send you the meeting wen link. Registration is available by clicking here.

Meeting Agenda

The three locations being considered are at Krusi Park (between the tennis courts and Otis Drive), Towata Park (between the road and bike/walk trail) and Leydecker Park (between the library and picnic area).
