Lagoon Information

Maintenance Check Points

The Harbor Bay Isle Lagoon is located on the Bay Farm Island peninsula in Alameda, along the East Bay shoreline just north of the Oakland Metropolitan Airport.

It is the central feature of the Harbor Bay Isle Master Plan Community, serving multiple important functions:

  • Open space preservation within the planned community

  • Wildlife habitat that supports local ecosystems

  • Aesthetic and recreational value for residents

  • Stormwater management, accepting drainage from surrounding developed areas

The lagoon therefore functions not only as a visual and recreational amenity but also as a critical component of the area’s environmental and infrastructure systems.

2026 Lagoon Lowering Dates

The Community of Harbor Bay Isle has coordinated with the City of Alameda to lower both lagoon systems on the following dates:

April 20 – 24, 2026
June 15 – 19, 2026
August 10 – 14, 2026

This is an opportunity for all homeowners to inspect their docks and curb walls for any needed repairs or maintenance, and to complete cleanup along the lagoon edge.

Please remember: An architectural application is required before any repairs may be made. Applications for pylons that comply with the approved design(s) may be processed through a “fast track” approval. For assistance with your application, please email architecture@harborbay.org.

Please note that this schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather or if ambient temperatures rise above 70°F. There will be no alternate rain dates due to tidal restrictions.

For questions, please email maintenance@harborbay.org or call 510-865-3363 ext. 350.

Our staff and lake management team look forward to another successful water quality season.
