August 7, 2018 Construction work will begin mid-August to improve pedestrian safety at Island Drive and Maitland Drive. The project is expected to be complete by the end of September 2018. Construction work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The project includes installation of Wireless Solar, a LED Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon Crosswalk System, push buttons, concrete, striping, and signage. City Drafting New Climate Change Plan
July 18, 2018 The City of Alameda is updating its 2008 Local Action Plan for Climate Protection and is gathering a first round of public input via a community survey. Bay Farm Island Bridge Closure Alert
July 10, 2018 Caltrans expected to complete this project over the weekend, but encountered quite a few significant challenges that prevented project completion. They announced the need for a full evening closure (11pm to 5am) on Wednesday, July 11, Thursday, July 12, and Friday, July 13. This schedule could change, and we will post any updated information we receive right away.
